Windham NH Town Information

Windham NH is located in Rockingham County in Southern New Hampshire, just over the Massachusetts line. Windham’s easy commuting location is one of the main reasons residents choose to buy real estate in the town. There is easy access off of Route 93 North and South and Route 3 is nearby. The population at the 2000 census was just under 11,000.

According to the United States Census Bureau, the town has 26.7 square miles of land area and 1.0 square miles of inland water area. The highest point is Jenny’s Hill, at 500 feet above sea level.

In 2007, the estimated median household income was $123,800 and the estimated median house/condo value was $475,200.

Windham is a thriving community of over 15,500 residents. The Windham School District currently serves over 1,600 students at three community schools - Golden Brook School (Transition through 2nd), Windham Center School (3rd through 5th) and Windham Middle School (6th through 8th). High school students (650) attend Salem High School through an AREA agreement. The Windham School District is in the process of building its own high school opening September, 2009.
