Mont Vernon NH Votes to Purchase Wah Lum Reserve |

More Conservation Land for Mont Vernon in NH
We are delighted to see that the residents of Mont Vernon voted to protect the Wah Lum Reserve property. Voters overwhelmingly supported the article on the warrant that successfully allows the town to purchase 248 acres in the Purgatory Road Watershed, also known as the Wah Lum Reserve.
The watershed runs along the Mont Vernon and Lyndeborough border into Milford. Mont Vernon currently owns much of the land in this conservation area within the town.
With the purchase of this property, a contiguous span of roughly 500 acres of protected land will be created in Mont Vernon.
And also, just to the South, the Dow Road (Heritage Place) development donated over 100 acres to Mont Vernon Conservation, much running along Purgatory Brook between the upper and lower Purgatory Falls areas. This is all part of the 500 contiguous acres which is full of wildlife and untouched open space. The upper and lower falls of Purgatory Brook are an easy hike from many trails in the area, although the upper falls trail is a difficult hike back out (it's a rough and steep trail).
The Heritage Place, developed by North View Homes of Merrimack, is a new neighborhood under construction and a delightful area of new homes priced in the mid $400’s and up. There are lots to appeal to those looking for privacy, views, waterfront or roadfront lots. A perfect opportunity to live in the country and go to Amherst Middle School and Souhegan High School.
